R v A Bradford Crown Court: Conspiracy to Kidnap and Blackmail

The defendant, a man of previous good character, was charged with a kidnapping in the Indian Subcontinent.  This was a complex international case which involved several countries.  A large scale surveillance operation, which included listening devices being planted in the cars and houses.  Case involved National Agency Crime Agency.  Blackmail demands were made for one million pounds in exchange for the safe return of the victim.  Victim was kidnapped for 17 days.  Extensive  surveillance carried out on the ransom money.
