The defendant extensively researched, downloaded and printed substantial quantities of terrorist material from the internet over a number of months. The defendant then acted on the material and proceeded to make a number of sophisticated Improvised Explosive Devices (including nails bombs). The devices were hidden in the defendant’s home address whilst potential targets were considered.
