Andy Star a former policeman and Brigadiers body guard from Kurdistan was charged with offences of Terrorism ( contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006) it was alleged that he and another male were in the early stages of preparing improvised explosive devices with the intention of planning a large scale terror attack in the UK. This case received wide spread press coverage, they were nicknamed the “Christmas Bombers”, it was alleged that the target was ” a Christmas market in the UK”, it was alleged that they were planning to use “Driverless cars” for the terror attack. There was a trial in 2018 and a retrial in 2019. Chaudhury solicitors assembled a team of barristers, including Queens Counsel and a team of experts including, pyrotechnics,explosive and firearms experts. The judge recorded a not guilty verdict on the 12th July 2018. The client provided a statement to the press thanking Chaudhury Solicitors and the team of Barristers for all their help.
